What a stop is like on a world cruise
A world cruise spends many days at sea. The ports below are ones these voyages often use. The ship does not stop in all of them on one sailing.

On a short stop you can walk the streets nearest the landing. On an overnight you have the evening in that city. Southampton, Sydney, and Singapore, where many of these voyages start or end, are the places to add nights.
Days at sea
There is no pier.
You are on the ship. Stay on deck, have a meal, or go to a lecture. There is nothing ashore to miss.

Southampton
Many world cruises start or end here.
The train to central London takes about 90 to 120 minutes. Southampton is a practical place to add nights in London before the ship sails or after it returns.

Sydney
Many ships use the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay.
From that pier you can walk to the Opera House and The Rocks. Bondi is a beach east of the city. The ride takes about 30 minutes. If the ship stays longer, or you add a night before it sails, you can see more than the quay.

Singapore
Often an overnight on a world cruise.
Gardens by the Bay is near Marina Bay. The ride from the cruise terminal takes about 10 to 15 minutes. An overnight leaves the evening for a hawker center.

Cape Town
Ships dock beside the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Dining and shopping at the waterfront are a walk from the terminal. Table Mountain is above the city. The cable car runs when the wind allows, and the ride from the pier to the lower station takes about 15 minutes.
